I had an appointment with my oncologist from Mayo Clinic this morning. It went about as expected. He wants me to start taking a new chemo regimen called Lonsurf, which is a combination medication of trifluridine and tipiracil. It is not as strong as Folfox, which I had last taken. However, it does not have as much toxicity as Folfox either. It is not likely to reduce tumor growth, but rather slow it down. This drug is a third-line treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer. It has results of giving 10.8 months of survival rate compared to 5.6 months without it on the studies that I read.

My goal is to push hard on the alternative treatments so that I can get more benefits. I serve a powerful God. I know that He alone can heal me from this cancer. In the meantime, I will patiently wait for His direction so that I can follow His lead. And if He chooses not to heal me on this side of heaven, I am okay with that because it is His will that matters most. This does not mean that I am giving up hope. I still pray for His will to be done here on Earth as it is in Heaven. There is no sickness in Heaven, so I know that it is not His will for us to be sick. However, through this journey, my prayer is that my life can be used as a vessel for the Holy Spirit to work in the lives of many people so that they may come to know the Lord Jesus as their Savior. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life for all who believe in Him. He is the only cure for the worst disease of all… sin. Sin will leave us eternally separated from God. However, Jesus paid the penalty of death for our sins. It is a free gift for everyone. But you must accept that free gift. Believe in Him as your Lord and Savior and ask Him to forgive you of your sins. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to reach out to me. I would love to talk to you about it.
