When you choose to battle a disease unconventionally, one of the main concerns is what’s the cost? I get it! The price of everything has skyrocketed.
You finally decide that the best decision to get healthier is to go on a more natural and organic diet. They might have some of the products at your local grocery store, but not much. So, you decide to meander over to the local Whole Foods Market (or whatever is your local “healthy” store). You have some recipes in mind and just need to pick up a few ingredients. As you look around the store with brand names that you have never heard of, you start to notice the huge price difference. But you are determined to do this! So, after getting the smallest amount necessary of the organic vegetables, you make your way to the meat department. You try to disguise the fact that you almost fainted when you saw the price of the organic, farm-raised, hormone-free beef. You think to yourself, “The family will just need to be served smaller portions, which is good because they have been gaining weight anyway.” You decide to skip some of the special spices that the recipe lists, because who needs that $10 jar of spice that you may only use once? You make it home with your treasures and are excited to make your first truly healthy meal. As your family sits down for dinner, your smile quickly turns upside down as the kids begin with their grossed-out expressions, “uh, what’s that? I’m not eating that.” You feel like the whole event has been a disaster. So, the next night you are back to the box of mac-n-cheese and hamburgers.
So, you had one bad experience with trying to be healthy and decided to give up. What is the cost? You may think to yourself that the cost of the food is more than you can afford. However, if you keep shopping around, you will find that there are ways to supply food in bulk and bring down the cost. For example, if you are looking for organic meats, you could try Butcher Box. They deliver it to your home. You can keep it in a freezer until it is time to pull that meat. It takes time, but you could work on planting some of your own vegetables and herbs. Also, broccoli sprouts could be grown within a week and are incredibly nutritious. Slowly replace staples in your home with healthier versions. Trying to do everything at once is much too costly. You can also shop at local produce stands for a lower price than at some markets. However, these could still contain pesticides on them. Be sure to wash all your food.
I realize that healthier foods do cost more. But what does it cost if you don’t change? How many doctor appointments could you have avoided? What long-term effects do you have caused by a disease? Are you now dealing with some type of autoimmune disease? How about cancer? Having good health is invaluable. Oh, how I wish I could go back in time and change my bad habits! I also wish that I could go back to when my children were young and stick to a healthy meal for all of us. All three of my children struggle with making healthy food choices. Some more than others. My husband wants to change his eating habits to something healthier. He will do good for a couple of days, and then a dessert will come by that he just cannot say no to. It is hard!
As for me, I have a new outlook on food. I am not tempted by unhealthy food. I eat what my body needs, which is nutritious food. I am in a battle for my life. The choices that I make each day could help decide the outcome. I look at sugar as poison. It is simply not worth having. The cost is way too high. My family and loved ones matter more to me than joining in on a dessert or a greasy, unhealthy meal. I must keep my focus on what matters most, which is my God and my loved ones.
Yes, the cost of battling cancer unconventionally is high. The prices do add up. But the cost of not fighting is even higher!
I am attaching a document with the cost that I currently have for the regimen that I am doing. I have created a second savings account to place all money that has been donated towards my alternative treatments so that I can keep it separate and use it accordingly. Thank you to everyone who has donated already. I have been able to get more IV Vitamin C infusions. I plan on starting with Elevate Health to get special treatments such as red light therapy and hyperbaric chamber treatments. I could not have done this without the help of so many generous people.
